A business start-up project with 2 other colleagues in which we each took on the whole range of activities for a small company including product design and development, marketing and business admin. The idea involved designing, producing and measurements microelectronics with high precision and high-level protection such as resistance to temperature, impact, radioactivity and etc. It has application principally in the defense industry and, with sanctions effectively barring importation of microelectronics for the military, had a strong potential market. However, whilst managing to produce and sell our products, the inflexible business environment for small start-ups in Russia prevented us from really taking off.

Developed software with commercial application in controlling household window shutters according to a timer (``Smart House`` electronics). System based on PLC.

This was essentially a work experience opportunity with some paid work. Whilst the paid work involved routine testing of hardware, Pilyugin is the leading Center for control systems for rockets in Russia (ROSCOSMOS). This gave the opportunity to work on a degree project, approved by the Center, in which myself and a colleague designed a device based on microcontroller enabling connection of old telemetry systems with modern computers.
